The citizens of Moosomin, Saskatchewan came together with the help of the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation to honour the men and women from their community, who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Please read letter of support below:

For the past ten years, The Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation has partnered with private and public organizations to put a face to the fallen, to share a glimpse into the lives of our soldiers and preserve their memory through memorial. The Moosomin Legion Branch #81 is one of these partners. As a legion branch our aim is to display all 85 metal art memorial prints for the names on our cenotaph.

The unveiling of our first 8 prints took place on Remembrance Day 2018. We have set our completion date as November 11, 2019; thus far we are half way to our goal. As in most projects that first portion of a project is always the fastest part, thru steadfast researching we are anticipating to be completed on time.

It is truly astonishing the support we have received from our local legion members, businesses, and individuals alike. I have worked very closely with a dedicated team from the Foundation to “bring to life” our walls of remembrance.  These memorials will play a pivotal role in our Remembrance Day Ceremonies, no longer will there just be names read aloud, there will be faces and stories connecting the fallen.

One of The Royal Canadian Legion missions is to serve veterans and their families. Thru this venture the fallen will be remembered, for generations to come, for the ultimate sacrifice they gave for our communities and our country. We can never repay them, but we can remember them.
